Meet the Founder
Say hello to Brian Cook, a.k.a. B Cook, a passionate Sommelier on a mission to help you discover wines you’ll love. He makes wine easy for newbies and enriches the journey for the pros. In the hospitality sector, Brian creates exceptional wine programs that keep customers coming back.
Twenty years ago, Brian swapped his government relations gig in Washington, DC, for a life in wine and hospitality.
He juggled wine school, worked at a leading wine shop, and was part of the team that launched the first-ever Vino Volo airport wine bar. After earning his Sommelier stripes in 2006, he directed wine programs for celebrity chefs like José Andrés and Wolfgang Puck in D.C. before heading to California in 2011.
Brian has always supported small, family-owned wineries. Working with specialized distributors, he brought unique, small-batch wines to a wider audience. Managing wine programs on both coasts, he has always spotlighted wines from these cool, lesser-known, but praiseworthy producers.
Brian also runs educational wine programs and organizes wine and hospitality events all over the Bay Area and beyond. He lives in San Francisco.
